Review: Discovery Wonderwall Multimedia Projector
Review: Discovery Wonderwall Multimedia Projector Tube. Duration : 15.02 Mins.
This is a review of the Discovery Wonderwall Multimedia Projector, demonstraiting it's capabilities, and shortfalls. What's included: * Projector (of course) * Composite A/V Cables (analog NTSC, USA version displayed) * Special 3-episode DVD (DVD player not included in PJ, unlike Jaks Pacific version) * Instruction Manual (inside DVD package) The projector itself has a handle, which you can use for aiming the centered image higher than flat down (no keystone correction, it's a toy, after all), and can be placed vertically, to project images on a ceiling. You twist the lens to focus the image, up to at least 120" (can go farther), but you'll have to do a lot of twisting. Due to the terrible design in the halogen lamp's reflector, you are left with a blurred piece of video in the center, while the edges are clear. When viewing a solid color (black, most noticable), the uniformity is terrible, but won't be too noticable when you're watching a video, displaying images, etc. The high point of this projector is the sound quality. Granted, it's nothing special, nor has superior range, it's what you'd expect from small speakers, which isn't all too bad. With I could say the same about the video. It's a low 320x240 LCD with Delta-Pattern RGB elements, which stands out like a sore thumb when video gets about 32" in size. I purchased the Discovery Wonderwall projector and now I am comparing it to the AAXA P1 Jr pico projector. Both are projectors so I think it's a fair comparison, I was at first a bit dissapointed at the performance of the Wonderwall projector then pleasantly surprised by the performance of the P1 pico projector. Neither projector can be used with the lights on, but do work with the lights off. The P1 Jr has an onboard battery pack and video decoding capabilities with an onboard speaker.

shift 3 xl-90 entertainment projector aka wonderwall
shift 3 xl-90 entertainment projector aka wonderwall Video Clips. Duration : 3.25 Mins.
This a little demo of the shift3 xl-90 projector. It is connected to my hp laptop v3218la. Via s-vide to rca cable. I maximize the brightness in windows media to project a better picture. This is a cheap projector but with some adjustment you can get a decent image for no more than 100$. (I got mine in ebay for US59) Featuring ICE AGE video taken using a nokia 5610

Before going any further, answer a couple of questions Are you looking for a projector to 1- Watch movies in the backyard or while camping 2- You want to call your buddies over to watch Superbowl or HD movies If your goal is to watch movies in the backyard or movies with your kids - you are certainly in luck. However, if you are looking for a projector to watch the Superbowl, high-end video games, or for a home entertainment system you will sorely disappointed. The key is, what are you expectations? The Discovery Expedition Projector is a very basic, inexpensive projector that is easy to set-up but lacks the picture quality you would need for a home entertainment system. Notes - The overall contrast is ok, at best. The whites have a tendency to washout even when viewed in the darkest rooms. The whites seem to "Bloom" out and kills the overall contrast. As you can see in the video, the washout hurts the viewing quality but it will be *good enough* for backyard viewing. - The picture is grainy, but that is to be expected due to fact that it is not in HD (remember you are using a standard RCA input). Also, you are blowing the picture which will naturally cause the picture to become grainy. However, the further you are from the screen the less "grainy" the picture becomes. - Sound quality - barely acceptable - HOWEVER - you don't need to use the speaker in the projector. What I do is use my Logitech S715i for my audio. This is easy to do, I purchased a RCA-to-aux converter ...
